The Laguna Beach authorities came up with a new warning system for their beach flags. Fortunately, the red flag denoting no swimming did not fly the post at any time during the week, unlike last year in which two days were deemed red flag worthy on account of riptides.
My favorite flag on the new system is the purple one at the bottom of the sign. "Dangerous Marine Life." It leaves much to the imagination.
